While everyone’s working hard on putting the final touches to St Nicholas, Warwick, I have been busy on my lightbox painting away. Apart from architectural pieces, this is what I got to paint last week.
A lovely little cupid faced angel to go in a tracery piece. She will have red wings, blue robes and will be holding a scroll with an inscription. There are 13 other angels like her, all with individual faces, head pieces and halos. We work very hard to make sure each angel has an unique look, and here this angel has the crown of small white flowers and her blond hair falls to her shoulders. Previous angels have had crowns of lilies and roses and most of the angels have their hair styled up.
This angel isn’t quite finished, I still want to add another layer of stain to help her hair stand out from her halo and collar.
