Finchley Synagogue

Finchley Synagogue approached Ark when they wanted to move their set of the 12 tribes of Israel, from one set of windows to another.

The original set were just laminated onto the surface of the glass and most of them had missing sections where the plastic had lost its adhesive. The design was adjusted to better suit a leaded window, with a new amber border with roundels, and space at the top and bottom for inscriptions.

Each window was made as the donors came through, with the glass cut in our London studio, painted and leaded in our Birmingham studio, then encapsulated into a double glazed unit at our Hereford studio. All units were backed with a textured toughened section to maintain the privacy the synagogue appreciated.
